MY STORY
My name is Stephanie Iverson.
My love for words and eye for catching errors began when I was young, and I would correct my dad as he read me books at bedtime. From there I was helping my sister check for errors in any writing she did for school, reading over important documents for my mom to get a second set of eyes, and always pointing out to my family when I noticed an error in any writing I came across.
I enjoy helping others, and I feel that proofreading allows me to help people as they work to achieve their writing goals. I am detail oriented, which is one of the things I love about proofreading. I also love a good puzzle, and sometimes, that is exactly what proofreading feels like—finding the right combination of grammar, formatting, and punctuation to help you, as the writer, get your words and ideas across to your reader effortlessly.
I completed the course General Proofreading: Theory and Practice, and received a certificate of completion.
I am most familiar with The Chicago Manual of Style and Merriam-Webster dictionary.
